Having translated on a informal basis since my degree, I recently translated a series of technical documents for a local manufacturer of cleaning products.

After graduating from Keele university in 2001, I spent two years assisting with English and Music in two German schools. I returned to my home town of Hinckley in 2003 where I worked in retail for one year before assuming a German speaking customer services position in Manchester. Three years later, I began working for BNY Mellon, where I looked after international corporate clients for some five years. Since living in Northamptonshire, I have worked as a customer service agent in fashion and more recently as an export administrator. I have used German in all of my positions to date as well as French from time to time. The years I spent in Germany coupled with a wide variety of positions have strengthened my German vocabulary greatly, but also deepened my understanding of the culture.

    About me

I have enjoyed a varied life with my husband Andrew since we met in 2009. Living and working in Wellingborough, we frequently visit our respective home towns in Leicestershire and Lancashire. We share a love of the outdoors and foreign travel. The Austrian alps are a particular favourite of ours. I also enjoy music, most notably the piano which I studied at university, but also the violin which I play in an amateur orchestra. I am a Sunday school teacher and have recently volunteered with homeless adults. A few years ago, I wrote and illustrated a series of picture books for children, one of which I also self-published. I love foreign travel and languages and one day hope to make it past beginner level in Spanish and Dutch, time allowing.
